My art reflects my fascination with light and shade in its
various forms. I tend to use light, either as an actual material or by
alluding to it.
In my work I often explore and consider light and the idea of light as
a pollutant.
I treat light as a medium, seeking to illuminate its simple and essential
beauty.
I am fascinated by the juxtaposition of light, architecture and shadows,
and like to employ different materials and media.
By experimenting with the reverse effects of light and shade and the media
of space and sound, I create artificial landscapes captured in site-specific
installations.
These differing media, alongside others such as photographs, video and
other new technologies, allows me to generate and explore the relationship
which a particular place suggests to me, using light to play with the
pre-sentimental memory of these relationships.
